CIVIC CLUB FEEDS CHS STUDENTS!
The CIVIC Club cooked hamburgers and hotdogs on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday for the students at CHS. The meal was donated by Mr. Davis.

 

A to Z Agricultural Fair
The Ag Business Management seniors along with the help of junior ag students sponsored an Agricultural Alphabet field trip for Carrollton Elementary kindergarten and preschool students on Wednesday, May 16th. The students traveled to each letter of the alphabet learning about agricultural topics that start with that letter. The students also received a coloring book that highlighted the topics and included fun facts about agriculture. The Carroll County Farm Bureau provided monetary support for the event.

 

SLAWS (Science,Language Arts,World Studies)

Enriched freshmen students participated in SLAWS which incorporated activities in science, language arts and world studies for a week concentrating on fission and fusion energy, sustainability of humankind, environmental issue related to CO2 and global issues in a role playing atmosphere.
Chesapeake Energy sponsored the project and donated $500.00 to pay for pizza and bottled water for over 130 students, they also paid for 30 five dollar gift cards for prizes to Dairy Queen. The term SLAWS represents Science, Language Arts, World Studies respectively.

 

Kruprzak and Haun Fare Well At Special Olympics!

Congratulations to Johnny Kruprzak who participated in the 50 meter run and javelin throw recently at the Special Olympics competition. He is pictured above with the Hall of Fame Queen and her court.

Math Competition
5th and 6th grade students competed in a math tournament sponsosored by the ESC on May 14th.

Eigth grade students participated in Civil War Reenactment on May 15th.

It's A Jungle!
Welcome to Right-to-Read week at Dellroy Elementary! Grandparents had a first hand look at how excited Mrs. Gorney (2nd grade teacher) and Miss Kintigh (Autism Unit Teacher) are getting their students for reading! Over the past week, students have been researching this years school theme, The Rain Forest, and creating a walk through adventure! In the upcoming weeks, the students will be learning about the different layers in the rain forest, the types of resources we are able to utilize from the rain forest, animals and their habitats and about recycling materials to preserve natural beauty. Stay tuned to see new updated pictures as our rain forest continues to grow!!!

 

Grandparents Get to Experience COSI with Grandchildren!

 

 

 

 

On Thursday, May 10th, 2012 the COSI on Wheels program visited CES for a whole school assemble called "It's Simply Chemistry". Children in grades 2 through 5 with their Grandparents had the opportunity of furthering their understanding through hands on activities in the CHS Gym.

 

OUTSTANDING BELL-HERRON MIDDLE SCHOOL STUDENTS
Students at Bell-Herron School were recently awarded for maintaining a perfect 4.0 grade point average during the school year.The eight grade students are pictured with their principal, Mrs. Tricia Green. Breaking Records!
Madison Dunlap, a seventh grade student at BHMS broke 2 school records in girls track on April 30 during the match with Marlington. She ran the 800 Meter in a time of 2:28, breaking the school record of Valerie White set in 1992. At the same meet, she ran the 1600 Meter with a time of 5:29, breaking the record of Abby Wood set in 2001. It didn't take long for someone to beat her record in the 800 Meter run- Madison beat her own record at the NBC meet on May 9th, crossing the finish line with a time of 2:27.3. Congratutlations Madison on a job well done! Madison is shown with her coaches, Chris Shroyer and Lisa Baker.

Warrior Football Fathead Fundraiser!

The Carrollton Warrior football team is selling Fatheads this year for their fundraiser. The cost is $45.00 for one Fathead and $80.00 for two Fatheads. They will be sold until June 11th. Checks should be made payable to the Carrollton Athletic Booster Club. You can place your order with any football team member. Fatheads are approximatly 3 feet by 2 feet in size.
