
Good Morning CES Families,
This is a reminder that there is no school on Monday, September 15th, due to a Teacher Waiver Day.
Beginning Tuesday, September 16th, two modifications will take place to help increase instructional time and reduce end-of-day congestion for our students:
Morning Arrival: Doors will now open at 8:30 AM (previously 8:25 AM).
Afternoon Dismissal: Dismissal will now begin at 3:20 PM (previously 3:10 PM).
*No Changes to Pre-School Parent Pick Up Routine
We know change is hard, but decisions will continue to be made in the best interest of our students' safety and learning. Thank you for your support as we continue to make adjustments that benefit our students.

I would like everyone to recall the events that occurred 24 years ago on September 11, 2001….
Altogether, 2,977 innocent men, women, and children lost their lives in attacks meant to terrorize our nation. They had been going about their day – harming no one – when sudden evil struck. We will never undo the pain and injustice borne that terrible morning, nor will we ever forget those we lost.
On September 11, 2001, amid shattered glass, twisted steel, and clouds of dust, the spirit of America shone through. We remember the sacrifice of strangers and first responders who rushed into darkness to carry others from danger. We remember the unbreakable bonds of unity we felt in the long days that followed – how we held each other, how we came to our neighbor’s aid, how we prayed for one another. We remember how Americans of every station joined together to support the survivors in their hour of need and to heal our Nation in the years that followed.
By a joint resolution approved December 18, 2001, the Congress has designated September 11 of each year as ‘Patriot Day’ and has requested the observance of a nationwide moment of silence at 8:46am every year on September 11. We can never repay those heroes who gave of themselves in the face of such great evil – but we can – and we must – pay them forward for their sacrifices. Today, we can honor those we lost by building a Nation worthy of their memories. Hopefully we can all realize that the sacrifices we are asked to make pale in comparison to the sacrifices made by the heroes we lost on 9/11 and the sacrifices our military men and women make every day in order to keep us free.

If you are able, I would ask everyone in Warrior Nation to observe a moment of silence at 8:46AM today in remembrance of the innocent lives lost on 9/11 and in honor of the greatest nation in the history of the world – the United States of America.

Dismissal: 3:15 PM - 3:30 PM

The State has mandated that 'all schools adopt a policy that prohibits cell phone use by students during the instructional day'. Our Board will adopt a policy in September that aligns with this new law but we will begin following the 'no phones' rule beginning on August 20. It is recommended that students leave their phones at home; however, if that is not possible, they are encouraged to leave their phones in their locker during the school day.
