Carrollton Middle School

The Freshman Boys Basketball Team defeated Minerva in an EBC semifinal last night. All players contributed significantly, with Marcus Brooks scoring 9, Luke Thomas scoring 8, Michael Mullen and Brandon Lee scoring 6 apiece, Jake Bryant scoring 4, and Camryn Moore scoring 3. The Freshman will play for the EBC championship against West Branch on Saturday at 4. Hope to see you there!

Reminder: No School on February 7!

Carrollton FFA is collecting clean plastic caps for the Caring About our Planet program. Our hope is to get a recycled bench made in memory of Dr. John Walters. Caps can be from water bottles, condiment containers, milk jugs, etc. Please see the graphic below for further examples. Caps can be deposited in collection bins by the CHS gym and in the CHS office. Two hundred and fifty pounds of caps are needed, so start saving today and help us honor Doc!

Monday, February 5th there will be a meeting for all parents of current sixth and seventh grade students that have any interest in going on the field trips to Washington DC and Gettysburg. The meeting begins at 6pm in the PAC . This meeting will include information on fundraising, itineraries, and behavior policies.

"Navigating High School: A Parent Meeting for 8th Grade Families" 8th grade parents, please plan to attend a meeting on Tuesday, February 13th from 6:00-7:00. The meeting will be in the Performing Arts Center at Carrollton High School . During this meeting, we will talk about the scheduling process, graduation requirements, and answer any questions you may have.

Warrior Nation, we need YOU! Straggat Media will be broadcasting Friday's basketball game and we need you to be LOUD and PROUD by filling the stands and Black Hole. ALL STUDENTS will get in FREE for the battle of the top two teams in the EBC standings! Your Warriors are looking to defend their EBC title and keep the hope alive to reclaim it next week at home.

All schools in the Carrollton Exempted Village School District will be on a 2 hour delay today - Tuesday, January 23, 2024.

The JV and Varsity Boys Basketball game scheduled for this evening @ Marlington has been cancelled. This game is now rescheduled for tomorrow, Saturday 1-20-24. The game will still be held at Marlington High School. The JV game will begin at 5:30 pm. The Freshman Boys Basketball game scheduled for tomorrow morning, Saturday 1-20-24 @ Canton C.C. at 10 am is cancelled. The MS Boys and Girls Basketball games between Carrollton MS and Tucky Valley MS scheduled for tomorrow morning, Saturday 1-20-24 at 9:30 am is cancelled.

We'd like to thank Wendy Gotschall for her 12 years of service to the students of Carrollton Schools as a Board of Education member. She started her tenure in January of 2012 and decided not to seek re-election in November. Mrs. Gotschall brought great insight to the district from her years at Aultman and the Carroll County Health Department. We thank you for your willingness to serve, so that future generations of Warriors have the opportunities that you had as a student here! We appreciate you and wish you all the best in the future!

Ryan Barnett has been named as a finalist for the Veterans of Foreign Wars Department of Ohio Patriot Pen contest. As a top 3 finalist, he is invited to attend The VFW Department of Ohio Midwinter Conference on Saturday January 13, 2024. We wish Ryan the best of luck! Ryan is an accomplished writer and truly deserves this recognition.
