BIG THANK YOU to Carrollton community members, business owners, parents, CES staff, and school board members for volunteering to help us have a successful Walk to School Day. It was a beautiful morning!

Tomorrow, October 4 is Walk to School Day. 1st through 5th grade students will be dropped off in various locations around the village and then walk to school with community members and staff. Please be on the lookout for these individuals and help keep everyone safe!

Basketball season is right around the corner! We are looking for any 3rd, 4th, 5th or 6th grader (boys and girls) to become a part of the Carrollton Basketball family. If interested, come to our meeting on October 8th to get some free HS player instruction for the players, as well as information on the travel team practice and schedules for the parents! You can decide anytime if you want to play. You may also sign up early on our Google Forms here https://forms.gle/euAMWwgDFgAgZxzF9 Flyers will be sent home the week of Sept 18th at school.
We will also have a Sunday rookie league for grades K-3 on Nov 5th, 12th and 19th that will be FREE. That information will be sent out in October.

It was a productive week at CES. Fifth Graders were able to enjoy a potato bar with special guest servers from the school board and administration. These fifth graders planted the potatoes at the Power Center last spring and then returned recently to harvest. First Graders were busy this week. Families were invited to a pep rally. They showed their school spirit by singing the Carrollton Fight Song and First Grade, First Grade. Then teachers shared with families what first grade will look like for their learners this school year. They finished their week by taking a walking field trip to the town square to view the scarecrows and enjoy an ice cream treat from Reminisce.

The last day to purchase insurance for chromebooks is Friday, September 29th. This applies to the whole district. Cost is $30 cash or check (payable to CBOE).
After Friday, Parents and Guardians will be responsible for damages to chromebooks if insurance is not purchased.

If you see something, say something!

Mark your calendars! Picture Day is coming. Please see the attached for dates.

REMINDER: no school tomorrow as it is a Waiver Day. BCC busses will be running.
Students need to be at CHS by 6:55 to get the bus. No pick up or drop off at home!

Many of you have received a hard copy of our district calendar. Please note that there is an incorrect date: March 14, 2024 is listed as a no school waiver day. We do have school on March 14, 2024. It is a regular school day. We apologize for the misprint and any confusion it may have caused.

Here is the latest on the blacktop sealing project at CHS/CMS:
The lot in front of the building may be used starting Thursday (7/27) and will open to ‘foot traffic’ on Wednesday (7/26).
The area by the field house, greenhouse and high school parent drop off will be closed from Wednesday through Friday (7/26-7/28). Tentatively, the middle school teacher lot and parent drop off will be closed early next week and the student lot will be closed late next week. Again, we thank you for your patience and for following the directions the crew provides to help get us through this process!

This week we have a company coming to seal the parking lots and driveways at CHS/CMS. The front of the building and main lot will be closed until Thursday. Additionally, other areas will be unusable at various times. Please look for orange cones and avoid those areas so that sealing will be effective. We appreciate your patience!
