Location: Transportation Department    

Our Process:

  • Submit a completed application for employment, along with a copy of your driver's license to Carrollton Administration Office

  • Complete the Background check process as instructed (*district will pay)

  • Attend a Pre-Service Class, and must pass the written test for completion (*district will pay)

  • Training with the On Bus Instructor for a minimum of 12 hours to gain proper training for the driving test

  • Pass a School Bus Driver Physical (*district will pay)

  • Maintain a satisfactory semi-annual BMV Driver Record

  • Must have a satisfactory Drug Alcohol result and FMCSA check form (*district will pay)

  • Must pass the driving test (*district will pay for 1 test)

  • You may now be hired as a substitute; with a CDL with Passenger and School Bus Endorsements.

*DISCLAIMER: If at any time you do not complete the process, or stay with Carrollton School District for 90 days, you will be required to reimburse the district for items completed.

Qualifications:

  • Applicant must be a minimum age of 21 with a minimum of two years driving experience

  • Hold a valid drivers license with an unblemished driving record

  • Have a negative pre-employment drug test; results and FMCSA check form

  • Background checks, BCI and FBI, without any disqualifying offences

  • Physically capable of lifting and managing preschool and special needs children when necessary

  • Ability to cope with stressful situations

  • Must have a CDL with school bus and passenger endorsement* (District will assist in the training)
