Honor Flight

On the DC trip, while visiting several monuments, our CMS students saw veterans getting off the buses from Honor Flight #27. We informed the students about the Honor Flight and what it meant.

The next day, we had the honor of meeting veterans that were on the Honor Flight. The students made a receiving line and greeted them during their visit to Arlington National Cemetery. This wasn't a planned idea. It just happened as they saw the group coming. They shook their hands, talked to them and thanked them. It was a moving moment for the students, staff and the veterans.

Mr. Albrecht received a phone call from one of the veterans who traveled from California. He looked up our school because he wanted to express his gratitude. He complimented our students and said that everyone was moved by the appreciation and interaction that their Honor Flight received from the students at Carrollton Middle School.

To say we are proud of our Warriors is an understatement!

Honor Flight Network is a national nonprofit organization comprised of independent hubs working together to achieve the Honor Flight mission. In furtherance of this common goal, we have the enormous privilege of showing our nation’s veterans the appreciation and honor they deserve. Participation in an Honor Flight trip gives veterans the opportunity to share this momentous occasion with other comrades, remember the fallen, and share their stories and experiences with other veterans. Honored veterans always travel free of charge, thanks to generous donations to our organization.

Honor Flight Network currently honors those who served during World War II, the Korean War, the Vietnam War, and veterans of any service era who are critically ill.
