The girls’ varsity soccer team's season came to an end with another sectional win. With the girls winning this year's sectional game, they earned two sectional titles for two years in a row. This season, the girls accomplished a winning season with only 12 girls on the team. Their overall winning record was 11 wins, five ties, and four losses.
As for wrapping up the season, the girls played New Philly High School in a game to get into sectionals. The team defeated New Philly 2-1 and moved on to play St. Clairsville for the sectional game. Thet then defeated St. Clairsville 2-1. Their season ended with a loss to Zanesville 1-3, which was a match to get into a district final game.
At the banquet, there were several awards handed to the many valuable players on the team. In the Eastern District Awards, First Team was handed to Lexi Shockey. Ariona Ritledge and Isabella Nuzzolillo were handed Second Tea. Honorable Mention went to Ryleigh Hanenkrat and Chelsea Pesta. As for EBC Awards, First Team was handed to Ariona Rutledge and Isabella Nuzzolillo, and Second Team was handed to Lexi Shockey. Honorable Mention was awarded to Lilliana Menarcheck and Gianna James.
Chelsea Pesta, a sophomore, stated, “Overall, this year's soccer season was good. We made sectional champs for the second year in a row with only 12 girls on the team! Although some games we had to play down because some people couldn't make it, we still pushed through and played our hardest.”
