Mrs. Pape’s and Mrs. Mullen’s classes visited the new elementary school last week to help Mrs. Russell plant Native Prairie Pollinators! Between both classes, students planted close to 200 plants. Mrs. Russell plans to plant approximately 6,500 plants! Students had a blast helping out. After planting, the classes ate lunch at the Campus Amphitheater.

Law enforcement officials were contacted this morning regarding a re-posting on a social media account. After investigating, at 1:15pm they identified the source and took appropriate action with the individuals responsible. Please contact law enforcement - instead of social media - with information about threats.

There was a false fire alarm today at CES. All students were moved to the BH gym while the Carrollton Fire Dept. investigated. The cause of the alarm was a roof leak that allowed water to collect in a smoke detector. All the students are safe and they returned to the building at about 1:00pm.

In a race involving all the schools attending the Buckeye Career Center and a total of 13 teams, our boys 4th-6th running club team finished third led by the winning performance of Henry Roudesbush. Cylus Roudebush was 6th, and Ezra Koppelman (22), Taylor Fewkes (27) , Jacob Hill (29) and Matthew Kinsey (33) all ran outstanding to help the team as well. 102 runners competed.
Dean Aukerman also won the K-3rd grade race to complete the individual title sweep for the boys. The team finished 5th and Zane Ott was 18th and Silas Koppelman was 21st. Myles Aukerman (45) and Gideon Shields (47) ran great and rounded out the scoring for the Warriors. 84 runners competed.
The girls did not have enough runners (5) to score but had great individual performances from Tirzah Shields (9th), Maryem Shields (34), Claire Henry (47), and Tirzah Koppelman (51).
Running club will race next on Saturday at Dover. Our next practice is Tuesday after school. We are looking for any new young Warriors that would like to join us! Outstanding job, Young Racing Warriors.

Mrs. Russell and Ms. Barb Burns led the Carrollton FFA students on a taste testing lab. Students compared 3 varieties of salsa and cast their votes on what tasted best. Two of the salsa varieties were made using tomatoes, cilantro, and peppers from our school gardens. This new initiative is designed for students to see the difference between fresh and processed foods.

Mrs. Davis's Animal and Plant Science Class worked with Mrs. Russell today to plant seeds. They will monitor the germination and growth rate. After harvest, the students will get to sample their hard work. Students planted Swiss Chard, Bib, and SummerCrisp Lettuce.
