The Wilderness Warriors are already "thinking spring!" Students explored the rate of percolation at the site where the school's vegetable gardens will be planted next spring to help determine how well the gardens will drain water. Students dug percolation holes, filled them with water, and measured the rate of percolation. Students will use the data to help determine any amendments that might need to be made this winter before any vegetables can be planted in the spring! Great job, students! We look forward to fresh veggies next school year!

The Wilderness Warriors spent part of their class time taking care of "Charlee's Chickens" for her, as well as newly-hatched quail in the Power Training Center. The quail were hatched on Sunday, October 4th, in the Power Training Center classroom. The baby quail weigh less than 10 grams and only stand a few centimeters tall! The students are enjoying watching all the birds grow and develop through their care and management. Great job, Warriors! Keep exploring and learning!

Our two science classes just wrapped up their biome presentations, and they did an AMAZING job! Students created some wonderful biome boxes showcasing five different biomes: 🏜️ Desert, 🌊 Marine, 🌳 Temperate Forest, ❄️ Tundra, and 🌴 Rainforest.
We are so proud of the creativity, effort, and hard work each student put into both their projects and presentations! Great job, students! 👏📚🌎

🌎📍 Geocaching Adventures at CES! 🧭
Our 3rd and 4th graders have been putting their navigation skills to the test!
Last week in Library, students were introduced to geocaching and learned how to use a handheld GPS to navigate using coordinates. This week, it was time to take those new skills outside! 🌳
Working together in teams, students used their GPS units to search for three geocaches hidden around our school campus. They had to follow the coordinates, communicate with their teammates, problem-solve, and do a little searching once they reached their destination. 🔎📍
There was LOTS of excitement when someone yelled, “I FOUND IT!” 😂🙌
It was such a fun way to combine technology, teamwork, problem-solving, and outdoor exploration—all while learning a real-world skill!
