In Ohio, distracted driving is a significant problem with serious consequences. In 2024, there were 8, 571 distracted driving crashes resulting in 29 fatalities and 4, 458 injuries according to the Ohio Department of Transportation. With that being said, our drivers must be focused without unnecessary distractions as a result of bus behavior. We ask again that you review Ohio Law 3301-83-08, Pupil Transportation Management Policies with your student(s) prior to the start of the school year. Safety is always our number one priority, and we have to work together to in order to transport kids safely. Thank you

Good afternoon,
The State has mandated that 'all schools adopt a policy that prohibits cell phone use by students during the instructional day'. Our Board will adopt a policy in September that aligns with this new law but we will begin following the 'no phones' rule beginning on August 20. It is recommended that students leave their phones at home; however, if that is not possible, they are encouraged to leave their phones in their locker during the school day. Please visit https://education.ohio.gov/Topics/Student-Supports/School-Wellness/Cell-Phones-in-Ohio-Schools to see more information about this new law.

Please make sure your address is clearly marked, whether that be on a mailbox, on your home, in your yard, etc. We have noticed while out driving routes there are several stops not marked that make it hard to find in the dark. Any help on this is appreciated. Thank you
Please take the time to read through the Parent Handbook (linked on the Transportation Section of Final Forms) with your student(s) and go over the rules for riding the bus. If you need further details, refer to Ohio Law 3301-83-08 - Pupil Transportation Management Policies. These are State laws that have to be followed. A simple review of this handbook throughout the school year can prevent safety and disciplinary issues on buses. Thank you
Reminder that Kindergarten and Preschool Students have to have a parent or guardian present when getting on and off the bus. If they have an older sibling riding the same bus, they are able to get on and off with them. Per Board Policy, Drivers cannot leave students at a stop unless parent/guardian (or sibling) are present, they will have to be kept on the bus until the end of the route and be picked up at the Bus Garage in that situation.
Just a reminder, per School Board Policy, student's can only have one stop in the morning, and one stop in the afternoon, unless we have custody paperwork on file. Students cannot ride to school with friends, ride home with friends, or get on or off at any other bus stops other than their designated stop. Thank you
Ohio Law - 3301-83-08 - Pupil Transportation Management Policies (C)(1) - Pupils are to arrive at the bus stop before the bus is scheduled to arrive. CBOE Policy required students to be out 5 minutes prior to the bus arriving. If student's are not out at their designated stop location (not on porches, not in vehicles, etc.), Driver's are not required to stop, by law. Please be aware of this, and please have students out and ready for the bus. More laws and information regarding busing to come this week. Thank you!
The 'Back to school Bash' will be tomorrow - Monday, August 11 - from 5:00 until 7:30pm at the Carrollton Schools campus. There will be over 20 vendors providing school supplies; bounce houses; free hot dogs and more! We hope you can attend!! GO WARRIORS!!
Letters including busing information for Student's were mailed out this week. A few things to note, routes have switched over from numbers, they are now a letter. Letters will be posted in bus windows for students to identify buses. If you receive a letter and busing needs have changed, please let us know as soon as possible. If you have a Buckeye Student and have not been in contact, please do so ASAP, or your student will not be set up to ride the bus. Again, if you have any changes or updates, please let us know so that we can route accordingly, otherwise, busing may be delayed for your student. You can call 330-627-4044, or email charlene.raines@carrolltonschools.org. Please watch for more updates from us next week. We are looking forward to a safe start to the school year!
Parents:
The attached letter is to inform you that the CEVSD generally monitors the devices that we provide to students and the reasons for that monitoring. Please contact the Superintendent's Office with any questions. Have a great day and GO WARRIORS!
